Since GTA schools have received more applications than there are available openings, there will be a public lottery on Friday, March 8th, at 6:00 p.m. in the MIT Multi-purpose room, for placement for the 2019-20 school year.
Due to high retention rates of existing GTA students, for every grade level except 6th, the lottery will determine what order students will be placed on the existing waiting list (there will be no direct placements). For incoming 6th-grade, 140 students will be admitted to Mare Island Technology Academy, and 112 6th-graders to Griffin Academy. There are also limited openings in Grade 8 for Griffin Academy and in Grade 11 for MIT Academy.
Interested parents and the public are welcome to attend, but note that it is NOT necessary to attend. Results will be posted on the website by 7:00 PM on Friday evening.
For those of you who’ve applied and are participating in Friday’s lottery, good luck!
